Do PVC wall panels really contain no formaldehyde

Does everyone know what PVC is? Simply put, PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, and it is a type of plastic material. PVC itself is a white powder that is typically processed and cut at high temperatures to become the PVC boards we commonly see. So, do PVC boards contain formaldehyde? Although PVC itself does not contain formaldehyde, things get a bit more complicated when PVC is used to make prefabricated wall panels. The material for these panels is PVC, and various additives are required during the manufacturing process – stabilizers, foaming agents, lubricants, and fillers, among others. Some of these additives require the use of formaldehyde. The problem is that if the reaction between the foaming agent or stabilizer is incomplete, formaldehyde may remain, resulting in PVC boards containing formaldehyde. Therefore, although PVC itself does not contain formaldehyde, prefabricated wall panels may contain it during production. If you have prefabricated wall panels in your home, it’s important to ensure good ventilation to minimize the potential harm from formaldehyde.
